About

Static

Frequency

Imagine you are exploring your grandparents’ attic. You find an old radio with a bent, extendable antenna.

***

You begin tuning it, twisting the antenna to find any channels still broadcasting, somewhere out on the aether. Voices begin to form just behind the static, like shadows speaking in a far off room — you’ve found something.

***

It’s a broadcast on a lost frequency, still transmitting. It’s hard to make out, but you can hear a man saying something. He’s presenting stories from some undisclosed location. It’s an old broadcast — or is it?

***

Each story is strange, weird. Frightening, but exciting. As the sounds flicker, you attempt to keep the broadcast in hearing. You twist the dial, adjust the antenna. Perhaps you shouldn’t be listening. Perhaps this is just for you. Perhaps there is a message to be found somewhere between the signal and the noise. Somewhere, on this Static Frequency.
